Part-Time
Level 1
AGORED
Llwyn y Bryn
10 weeks

Overview

Crochet is a versatile craft where a single hook and thread is used to create everything from cozy blankets and stylish clothes to cute toys.

In this course, you will learn how to crochet or improve your existing crochet skills. Throughout the 10 weeks, you will learn how to create the basic stitches used in crochet and how to combine these stitches to create different shapes, such as circles, granny squares and hexagons. You will also learn how to secure and finish off a panel and how to join panels together.

The more experienced learner will learn a range of more intricate stitches and how these can be used to create different surface textures, and how to combine different coloured yarns.

You will learn about abbreviations, how to follow a crochet pattern, how to create a tension square and how to match yarn weight with needle sizes. You will have the opportunity to create a set of samples and a workbook to store them in and retain as a permanent reminder to aid you working independently in the future.
